JACKSON, Miss. — Fried chicken chain KFC says two different investigations have not found any evidence that an employee asked a 3-year-old girl and her family to leave because injuries she suffered in a pit bull mauling disturbed customers.

KFC spokesman Rick Maynard said Tuesday the company considers the matter closed. He says an investigation by the franchise restaurant in Mississippi and an independent probe were done.

Attorney Bill Kellum, who represents the family of Victoria Wilcher, said a statement would be issued later Tuesday.

Maynard says KFC is still donating $30,000 to help with Victoria's medical bills.

Allegations that the child was asked to leave the restaurant were made earlier this month on the Facebook site Victoria's Victories, which has followed the child's recovery from the April attack.

Wow. People are so quick to jump to conclusions, especially when it involves big bad companies with rich CEO's.

But even the independent investigation found nothing?

Shame on this family if they made this up! If they did this to drum up support for a lawsuit under false premises, I wish KFC would sue them for defamation

Every news station in the country had a story about how horrible KFC was when the story broke.

If this family made it up they deserve to be sued for millions and millions.

And I'd be cheering for big bad KFC and their rich CEO.

Hate to say it, but it looks like the grandmother made the story up, and now she is being rewarded with not only $30,000 from KFC, but a plastic surgeon in Las Vegas who has stepped forward and offered to help reconstruct the girl's face for free - not that the sweet little girl doesn't deserve it.

If the parents of this child made this up they should be charged with extortion and abuse of the child. putting this little girl through this kind of scrutiny is equal child abuse. I hope the child is put into a home that would have her properly cared for and shown the love and affection she deserves not to be used as a pawn for the gain of wealth. Any money these people got should be put into a trust for the child and the parents should never see a penny of it.
