BYU has added to its 2015 football recruiting class, this time bringing in a quarterback.

The Oregonian reported Thursday that Roosevelt High (Ore.) coach Christian Swain announced on Facebook that Kimane Domena has verbally committed to play football for BYU. He will be a part of the 2015 recruiting class.

"Very proud today to announce that Kimane Domena made his verbal commitment to play football at Brigham Young University!" Swain wrote on his Facebook page. "I am so happy and proud of this young man! Now let's focus on school and finish the job on the field so your legacy is set forever!"

The 6-foot-2 Domena, a three-star recruit according to, is a dual-threat quarterback from Portland who rushed for 1,058 yards and 15 touchdowns while throwing for 1,561 yards and 14 scores last season.

Domena had been offered a scholarship from BYU, Colorado State and Portland State. According to Vanquish the Foe, BYU offered in late 2012.

BYU has five commits for the 2015 recruiting class, all of whom are rated three stars or higher.

Domena has high hopes on improving upon Roosevelt's 9-2 record last year during his senior prep season.

"For next season, we've got a really good squad coming (back)," Domena told Northwest Elite Index at the recent Las Vegas Pylon Elite 7on7 Tournament. "We're only losing like four seniors and our team's just really young. We're healthy and we're strong. We're just coming back for that title next year."

So were Portland state and Colorado state just some of his offers or all of them? Does anyone know if even one of the 50 or so bcs teams offered him?

I think he could be totally pretty awesome.

I hope that Mangum ends up returning to BYU. With the change of offensive philosophy, he may end up going elsewhere. Boise State or Washington may now be his best fit.

Not a lot of competition for this player. Remember, some QB become great DB's.
