West Valley City — A child escaped injury but three others were hurt in a traffic collision Sunday.

Officials said a Lexus was traveling northbound when witnesses claim the driver failed to stop for a red light. The vehicle was struck broadside by a Chevy pickup heading westbound on 6200 South.

Two men in the pickup were taken by ambulance to a local hospital in serious condition, along with the 28-year-old male driver of the Lexus who was in critical condition, according to police. The 4-year old girl who was strapped into a child safety seat in the rear seat of the car was unharmed and eventually placed in the custody her mother.

Authorities are investigating what promoted the car to roll through the intersection.
