IMMOKALEE, Fla. — In 2010, Junior Reyes was the only young man in his congregation in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, according to Mormon Newsroom.
Eager to invite other local young men to join the congregation, Reyes decided to open his mouth and do some missionary work.
Reyes' invitations to church and Scouting activities reached dozens of young men, six of whom have now served full-time missions.
Reyes and some of his friends discussed their experience in a video interview with the Mormon Newsroom.
"The mission is the greatest thing I could have done at that time," Fanfan Charles, a returned missionary from the Immokalee congregation, told the Mormon Newsroom. "When I got to the mission field, the more opportunities I had to talk to people, the more I thought, 'Wow, the Lord is using me to bless the lives of his children.’ ”
