HEBER CITY — Thieves struck an undercover SWAT vehicle Friday night in Heber City, making off with a police badge, an AR-15 style rifle, a Glock pistol, body armor and more.

The culprits took several SWAT uniforms, ammunition and several other kinds of police equipment and then burglarized another vehicle four houses away, said Heber City Police Lt. Jason Bradley.

A third vehicle, a 1998 tan Toyota Corrolla with a red trunk, was stolen. Its license plate is C791PC.

“These are brazen criminals we would like to stop quickly," he said. "It’s important to find them and get the equipment back in the right hands.”

Police are asking anyone with information to call 435-654-1411. All tips can be anonymous.

Scary times.
It sounds like people are stalking, watching, and plotting.
No longer safe to leave things in a outdoor vehicle.

How many times have we read about guns being stolen out of police vehicles? The police tell us not to leave valuables in our vehicles...so why don't they follow their own advice?
Leaving weapons in a vehicle, especially the type SWAT officers carry in my opinion is foolhardy. Common sense should prevail.

Bravo.

Why does Heber even have a SWAT team? This is insane.
