Salt Lake Comic Con and Utah Symphony present video game concert

Salt Lake Comic Con and Utah Symphony are teaming up to present a musical immersion into the world of video games.

Two performances of "Video Games Live" will take place the same weekend as Salt Lake Comic Con and will be on Sept. 6 at 11 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Emmanuel Fratianni will conduct the performances at Abravanel Hall, 123 W. South Temple. Other guest artists will include Chance Thomas of Bountiful, who will conduct his original composition “Theme for Rohan,” and Snow College’s Cadence Choir.

Selections from “Final Fantasy,” “World of Warcraft,” “Tetris,” “Skyrim” and “Shadow of the Colossus” will also be featured alongside video footage, synchronized lighting, interactive segments and more.

Tickets cost $18-$35 and are available online at arttix.org, by phone at 801-355-2787 or in person at the Abravanel Hall ticket office.

Utah Symphony is also offering the chance to win tickets to the performance as well as a digital prize package with a value of $420. Patrons can enter the contest by liking Utah Symphony’s Facebook page and leaving a comment with their favorite video game on the contest announcement.
