April 15 may be Tax Day, but Tax Freedom Day depends on where you live

April 15 is Tax Day for the entire United States, but its arrival doesn't mean the nation's citizens are free from their tax burdens. According to the Tax Foundation, Tax Freedom Day "is the day when the nation as a whole has earned enough money to pay its total tax bill for the year." For America, Tax Freedom Day comes on April 24, or 114 days into the year. For the states, Tax Freedom Day varies based on the combination of federal, state and local taxes.
