Top 5 college football games to watch in week 3 of the 2013 season (5 items)
College football's week 3 is here, along with the most anticipated rematch of the season as Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide face Johnny Manziel and the Aggies on Saturday.
However, Alabama at Texas A&M isn't the only important game this week. There are big games in the state of Texas other than this key SEC battle that will have national implications.
Here are the top five must-watch games this week.

1 of 5. No. 5: No. 24 TCU at Texas Tech
The stakes: The Horned Frogs missed a big opportunity in week 1 to record a quality win over LSU where they uncharactaristicly gave up 37 points to the Tigers. Now, Gary Patterson's defense will look for redemption against Texas Tech's pass-happy attack.
However, can the Horned Frogs hold back Baker Mayfield, who has 780 yards, seven touchdowns and no interceptions in just two weeks of play?
2 of 5. No. 4: No. 20 Wisconsin at Arizona State
The stakes: Former Utah State head coach Gary Andersen hopes to keep Wisconsin's impressive three-year Rose Bowl streak alive, and what better way to prepare his team than to face a solid Pac-12 squad on the road? Melvin Gordon and James White will try to run the ball down Arizona State's throat as they have 536 yards and four touchdowns combined.
On the other hand, Taylor Kelly and the Sun Devils look to take the Badgers' place in the Top 25, and a big win in the desert would allow them to do just that.
3 of 5. No. 3: No. 25 Ole Miss at Texas
The stakes: Texas fired defensive coordinator Manny Diaz after giving up 550 yards rushing at BYU. Now, Mack Brown needs a quick turnaround win in order to keep his job.
Ole Miss at home is the perfect opportunity for the Longhorns to pick up some momentum before heading into Big 12 play.
However, the young upstart Rebels could use a difficult test as preparation for the tough SEC schedule ahead. Jeff Scott and Barry Brunetti will look to replicate what Jamaal Williams and the BYU rushing attack did against the Longhorns last week.
4 of 5. No. 2: No. 16 UCLA at No. 23 Nebraska
The stakes: This is one of just two games in week 3 matching up two ranked teams.
UCLA is dealing with the sad loss of wide receiver Nick Pasquale after he was hit by a car and killed on Sunday morning. Nebraska and UCLA players alike will wear emblems of Pasquale's No. 36 on their uniforms on Saturday, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The Bruins will look to honor their fallen teammate by beating the Cornhuskers for the second season in a row. Meanwhile, Nebraska looks to avenge its 36-30 loss at home by returning the favor on Saturday.
5 of 5. No. 1: No. 1 Alabama at No. 6 Texas A&M
The stakes: The winner of this game takes the upper hand in the SEC West and an inside track on the race for the national championship.
Johnny Manziel and the Aggies want to prove that last year's 29-24 win against the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa was no fluke. But instead of playing spoiler to Alabama's otherwise-unbeaten season, Texas A&M wants to take the Tide's place as the nation's top college football team.
Meanwhile, Nick Saban is notorious for not losing to the same team twice. Saban is 7-1 in "revenge" games since he took over in Tuscaloosa. Also, the Crimson Tide looks to extend its incredible dynasty by winning three straight national championships.
No other game in week 3 has such far-reaching national championship implications.
