BYU freshman center Eric Mika recently received his two-year mission call from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is headed to Rome, Italy, and leaves May 14.

In light of Mika's departure, we thought it would be interesting to see how many returned missionaries are playing college basketball this season.

This list, which is not all-inclusive, is made up of four-year universities and colleges at all levels of competition, from Division I down to NAIA.

The list includes 12 Dixie State players, 10 from Utah Valley, nine from Westminster, eight from Southern Virginia, and seven at BYU. There are five returned missionaries playing for Utah State, three at Utah and Alaska Anchorage, two at Southern Utah, two at BYU-Hawaii, two at William Penn (one is a returned sister missionary), and one each at Arizona State, Stanford, UNLV, Fresno State, Pacific, Ohio, Weber State, UC Riverside, Loyola Marymount, Montana State-Billings and Colgate.

If you know of a returned missionary college basketball player at a four-year school we have missed, please send an email to ttoone@deseretnews.com with the name of the player, his team and where he served his mission.
