Season high

Opposing coach scouting report

“Dalton Nixon was our most difficult matchup of the season. He can knock down a deep 3-point shot and punish you on the low post. His unique blend of size, strength, athleticism and skill made him a near unstoppable force in high school basketball. As a four-year starter and 4A state tournament MVP as a sophomore, Dalton will go down as having possibly the greatest basketball career in the long history of Orem High School.”

Past all-state honors

2013 — 4A First Team

2012 — 4A First Team

Player Note

Signed with BYU

4 of 23. Alec Monson, Olympus

4A First Team

Senior, 6-5, Forward

2013-2014 statistics

21.8 point per game (1st in 4A)

8.3 rebounds per game (3rd in 4A)

2.3 assists per game

1.2 steals per game

Season high

31 points vs. Murray on Jan. 21.

Opposing coach scouting report

“Alec really blossomed this year as a senior. He was a good player last year, but he was virtually unguardable this year as a senior. He can shoot the 3, penetrate with both hands, and post up smaller players. Everyone's first decision when playing Olympus this year was who was going to guard Monson, and there was seemingly never a good option. He also displayed great poise and leadership this year. You could tell that he knew he was the best player on the floor and wanted the ball in his hands whenever Olympus had a key offensive possession.”

5 of 23. Zac Seljaas, Bountiful

4A First Team

Junior, 6-7, Forward

2013-2014 statistics

18.6 point per game (5th in 4A)

6.1 rebounds per game

3.6 assists per game (9th in 4A)

1.7 steals per game

Season high

33 points vs. Judge on Feb. 7.

Opposing coach scouting report

“With his size, length and skill, Zac is virtually impossible to match up with. He also is one of the more versatile players I have seen at the high school level as he can guard post and perimeter players equally well. You pretty much have to hope he just has an off-night when you play against him as his ability to create his own shot is a special talent as well.”

Past all-state honors

2013 — 4A Second Team

Player Note

Verbally committed to BYU
