Summer is fast approaching, and that means many Utah cities and counties are once again celebrating their unique history and heritage.

Following are some of the celebrations that families can look forward to in the coming months.

Note: This is not an all-inclusive list.

Dates: June 12-14

2 of 68. Orem Summerfest

Dates: June 13-14

Highlights include a car show, 5K race, children’s and grand parade, carnival and fireworks. See summerfest.orem.org.

3 of 68. Utah Scottish Festival & Highland Games

Dates: June 13-14

Highlights include traditional Highland athletic challenges like the Caber Toss challenge, traditional music, cultural vendors and Highland dancing.

4 of 68. Brigham City Heritage Arts Festival

Date: June 14

Highlights include quilt show, artisans, performances and various children’s activities. See brighamcity.utah.gov/heritage-arts-festival.

5 of 68. Coalville Barbeque Festival

Date: June 14

Highlights include children’s activities, concerts, fireworks, and … oh yeah, barbecue. Dinner tickets are $6 pre-sale, $8 at the gate. See coalvillecity.org/bbq_comp.html.

3rd Annual Gunnison Valley Dairy Days general admission is FREE this year. It's a great festival June 6 & 7. It also has a carnival, lawn mower races Quilt Guild and fun for the whole family.

The link to Farmington festival days send you to the Farmington Michigan festival days. Farmington was established more than 50 years ago. The days are correct for the Farmington, Utah festival. The website is just wrong.

You forgot Magna 4th of July, the Magna Main Street Arts Festival on Aug 23 and the Halloween in Summer Festival on July 18. All are located on Historic Magna Main Street. More information can be found on the Magna Township website (www.magnautah.org) or on the various events Facebook pages.
