In the American athletic and education world, college scholarships are the name of the game. Not only do scholarships provide collegiate athletes with a way to pay for an education, but they serve as a gateway to a career as a professional athlete in some cases.

After contacting coaches, athletic directors and principals from every high school in Utah, the Deseret News put together the following list of the estimated 649 seniors from the 2014 graduating class who received an athletic and/or academic scholarship to play college sports.

This list is arranged in alphabetical order by school, irrespective of division, region or classification.

Aaron, you may want to check on Taggart Baxter from Wasatch I believe he received an academic scholarship from Utah with the option to walk on if he makes the team. I talked to a good source that said that he wasn't guaranteed to make the team and wasn't given a athletic scholarship and that's what this article is about all though it would be nice to see where all the academic scholarship recipients are going also.

You also missed some other athletes at Desert Hills: All-State DB (Corner), Braden Reber, who signed with Dixie State and will play this fall before going on an LDS mission. Brock Doman, All-State Offensive Lineman, who signed with Weber State but will be serving an LDS mission first, and RJ Farnesi, who is going to Santa Barbara City College, CA on a football scholarship. Please add them.

There may be more in other sports. How are you collecting this information? Its a great list, and I'm sure a quick email or call to schools prior to publishing would provide a more complete list. Scholarship offers and commitments happen after signing day for many. Thanks for providing the information. Fun to see where these great athletes go after high school.
